Average Revenue Per Session Report

Edited

The Average Revenue Per Session Report allows you to compare clinicians’ typical reimbursement rates side-by-side and over various time frames. Use this report to get an understanding of the average revenue per appointment for each clinician or the full practice.

In the table below the chart, you’ll see the total revenue they collected during that time frame, the number of completed sessions the clinician had during that time frame, and thus the average revenue per session in the column on the right.

Features and functionality

  • Practice Average: Notice a dotted line through the graph to represent the Practice Average.

  • Time frame: You can adjust the time frame you’re viewing with the filter in the top right.

  • Deep Dive Table: Set the depth of detail you would like displayed in the data table by selecting either Compact, Summary or Codes. The Codes view will give you the average revenue breakdown for the billing codes used by your practice.

A few things to note:

  • Average revenue considers all appointments that have final revenue attributed.

  • Revenue is tied to the date of service that the appointment occurred, not date of payment.

  • Unlike Completed Sessions where each billing code can either be counted as 1 or a custom value set by the practice, we calculate the average based on the total number of appointments for the selected timeframe.

  • Only sessions that have no pending payments are included in this report. Pending means an amount is due from somebody but no revenue has been collected for that amount.

  • Your historical view of average revenue per session over time includes revenue collected by both active clinicians included in PracticeVital and inactive clinicians that are no longer with your practice
